Susann Opel-Götz was born in Bayreuth in 1963. Initially she studied art and literature, followed by book illustration at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, and since then she has had a very successful career as a freelance author and illustrator. Ab heute sind wir cool, her first picture book, was awarded the Eulenspiegel-Bilderbuchpreis, with the commendation “outstanding content and design”. In 2010 her Prinzessin Anna was on the White Raven list of titles recommended by the International Youth Library.
