Out of Order
A, B and C are agreed: first you work, then you eat, and then you have a midday nap. They do all this together, they have always done it, and they should carry on doing it, because so long as you stick to the rules, the world is in good order. But then C finds a cap and wants to keep it. A objects, and B says that if C keeps the cap, he/she doesn’t want to have to take a midday nap, and suddenly they’re quarrelling about what they should and shouldn’t do.
In this play, however, A, B and C eventually learn that people can have their own views and wishes, that is how they become individuals, and they can still live together in peace and harmony.
